Each year, the month of May in Brighton and Hove means one thing; the Brighton Festival! The Brighton Festival is the largest event of its kind in England. Now in its fifth decade, it has become one of the major milestones in the cultural calendar, bringing an international mix of exclusive events, world and UK premieres, special one-off commissions and endless hours of entertainment to the city by the sea.

As well as the main festival, which showcases a range of music, dance, theatre, and art shows, there’s also the more light hearted and fun Brighton Fringe Festival which hosts a range of more alternative, strange, wild and whacky shows, some of which have to be seen to be believed!

I’ve only been to one event this year so far, a Fringe event called Village Disco at the Spiegeltent which was basically a party with Fancy footwork, competitions, prizes, requests and dedications -combined with DJ with everyone dress in “Wild West” fancy dress!!
